How To See What Tags A YouTube Video Has
What YouTube tags is your favorite YouTuber using? What if we told you, that there is a way to find out EXACTLY what YouTube hashtags are used on any video?
We get it. Sometimes when you post YouTube gaming videos, you struggle with thinking of the right tags to use in your YouTube gaming clips. Doesn't matter if you are posting Fortnite clips or Call of Duty clips, with this method you can find what tags are working well for others and use them yourself.
How To View All YouTube Tags
Step 1. On PC, navigate to any YouTube video you want to see the tags of.
In this example we'll use the Official Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® – Season Two Trailer as an example. Because it was pretty badass.
Step 2. Right click on any blank space and click on 'View Page Source'.
Step 3. Be overwhelmed with all the code in front of you. Then press CTRL + F and type "keywords" until you come across this section of code.
As you can see in this video Activision used the following YouTube tags: call of duty, cod, activision, mw, modern, warfare, modern warfare, multiplayer, mp, spec ops, fps, gaming, gamers, gamer, game, video game, video games, season two, s2, battle pass.
There you have it. Now you know how to find out what any YouTube videos tags are and you can use them for your own gaming videos.
Which YouTube video should you copy tags from?
If you plan on posting a 'Best Apex Legends Kraber Win' clip then just search for that exact title. Then look for a YouTube video that is similar to yours and that is doing very well in terms of getting a lot of views. Search for the tags and use them.
How can I use this to my advantage?
Not only does this give you an insight into what tags the big YouTube channels are using, but it also gives you great ideas for YouTube tags for your own gaming videos.
If I copy YouTube Tags from a video will my video rank as well as that video?
The YouTube algorithm is a very complicated process. There is a lot of variables that go into ranking videos. The short answer is, probably not. If we were to make a similar season 2 Modern Warfare trailer for YouTube, there is a 99.9% chance that we would not rank anywhere near as high as the original from Activision.
In saying that though, if we made a video about "The Best New Features in Season 2 Modern Warfare Update" for example and used similar tags our video MIGHT appear as one of the recommended videos. There would be a LOT more work that would need to be done, but the tags would play a part in recommended videos.
You want to aim at getting in the YouTube recommended section. Since you won't beat the original video, the recommended section is where the party is at.
More on tags and getting in recommended section another time. Hope you guys enjoyed this little YouTube trick and hopefully it gets you more viewers and subscribers on your gaming YouTube channels.
Keep grinding, we know it's hard out there. But keep trying until something sticks. Something will eventually work, it just takes time. We guarantee it.
